Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy
When an accidental fire broke out at Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy in Great Yarmouth, in July 2025, the damage was extensive. More than 20 classrooms, offices, and connecting corridors were affected by fire, smoke, and water, creating a significant challenge for the school leadership team. With a strict requirement to reopen as quickly as possible, a comprehensive recovery programme was needed and delivered within an ambitious one-month timeframe.
Our team was appointed to manage the entire recovery process from start to finish. Initial works focused on making the site safe and conducting a detailed assessment of the affected areas. We then undertook a full strip-out of fire-damaged materials, removing debris and contaminated finishes throughout the impacted sections of the building.
As part of the recovery programme, specialist mould remediation works were completed to address moisture-related risks following firefighting activities. A comprehensive contents inventory was also produced, documenting all affected furniture, equipment, and educational resources to support the insurance and replacement process.
To accelerate recovery, our High-Energy drying equipment was deployed across the site, ensuring all affected areas were thoroughly dried and restored to a safe condition.
Through careful planning, close coordination, and round-the-clock project management, all remediation, drying, and reinstatement preparation works were successfully completed within four weeks, enabling the school to resume normal operations with minimal disruption to pupils and staff.
